The website and internet is currently (or will be) broken up into four separate independent and distinct components:

1) ISP
2) Website
3) Email
4) DNS  (domain name service)

The primary advantage of this approach is that each piece of the technical puzzle will stand alone independent of the other components, so each piece can be changed without affecting any other component.

1) ISP – the church internet service provider will ONLY be providing internet service and no other function.

2) Website – all our web hosting company (currently http://Westhost).com will be doing is to provide the church a place to store the website components.

3) Email – the church email server will be hosted by google-apps.

4) DNS – the DNS services are provided by http://1and1.com.  the “A” record points to our westhost IP number 208.131.136.49 and the MX records will point to google apps.  This approach gives us the most flexibility in changing components.

The church website itself is a wordpress website, allowing for dynamic page changes and future website expansion.
