Pastor: Jim Hammond:

Pastor Jim Hammond with Gina and children, Luke (on left) and Karissa with her husband David Lockard (on right).  Jim Hammond, the son of a missionary couple, Al and Eleanor Hammond, spent much of his childhood years in Japan.  Jim has two BA degrees and a MA degree–Westmont College, San Jose Christian College and Hope University (respectively).  Jim and Gina met at Westmont College (Gina was a Phys. Ed. major) and were married in 1983.  Jim and Gina ministered in Poway CA till moving to Cottonwood AZ in January, 1991, when Jim received the call to Verde Valley Christian Church.  The Hammond family enjoys sports and outdoor activities.

Pastor of Family Ministries: Doug Bridge

 Pastor Doug Bridge with his wife Sue, and Children Jackie and Jeff.  Doug was educated at BIOLA University.  Doug’s experience includes being a Youth Pastor, a Christian School teacher, and Christian School principal.  Sue is a nurse at Verde Valley Medical Center.  Jackie is now in college and Jeff is a Blind man that drives!  He installs blinds and more.

Pastor of Student Ministries:  Matt Shires            

Pastor Matt Shires             with his wife Briana.  Matt Shires grew up in our church, became one of our Timothy Interns, then became our first Extern/Interns and entered into partnership with VVCC.  VVCC trained him here, and paid for his education at Grand Canyon University where he earned his BA in Youth Ministry AND met his wife Briana.   Matt enjoys playing the electric guitar, everything “techie”, and does a phenomenal job creating videos.

Intern-Pastor of Praise and Worship:  David Lockard

Intern Pastor David Lockard with his wife Karissa.   David also grew up in our church.  David started leading our Contemporary service when he was 17 and has been leading worship at VVCC ever since.  David also was one of our Timothy Interns, then became our first Extern/Interns and entered into partnership with VVCC.  While David served as an Intern he earned several degrees:  1) He earned a sound engineering degree from tthe Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences, 2) Then a BA in History with a Music Minor from Northern Arizona University.  VVCC trained David and helped pay for his NAU degree in agreement that he would then become our Pastor of Praise and Worship.  His Internship/Externship continues as he is studying Bible and Ministry with Hope University.

Pastor of Discipleship:  Doug Freeman

Pastor Doug Freeman and his wife Karen.  Doug works part time at VVCC while he continues to work in management at Preferred Home Care.  Doug has an associates degree in respiratory therapy and is a Respiratory Therapist by trade.  He is currently the Northern Arizona district manager for nine office sites in Arizona and as a pilot often flies himself to these sites.  Doug also has a Bible Certificate from Calvary Chapel Bible College.
